A huge reason I got into photography was so I could have pictures of my own family that I loved.  Back in October we went out and did some maternity shots while I was still in that cute pregnant stage where your belly is big enough that people know you're pregnant, but you're not huge yet.  I'm just about 3 weeks away from delivery and feeling rather large, so I thought I'd go back and look at my own maternity shots.  Thanks to my wonderful hubby for taking some shots as well as my oldest little boy!  Future photographer in training!

Thank you to all my wonderful clients who are being so patient with me this very VERY busy time of year.  On top of taking pictures, we have Christmas to get ready for, the arrival of my baby in 3 and a half weeks, and fixing up a home we just bought and are trying to move in to before I have that baby!  WHEW!

So, without further ado, here are your pictures.  Hope you love them!  I certainly enjoyed taking them and seeing the love these brothers have for each other and their new little brother on his way and much waited for!

I love taking pictures this time of year.  We started out this session kind of bummed because it was cloudy and overcast, but still got some awesome shots.  Then like a miracle, the clouds parted and we had some golden rays of sunshine right before the sun went down.  Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Here are a few of my favorites from a recent session I did with some of my fantastic regular clients.  This year we went to Redcliffe Plantation.  And I must say, I really loved the green and brown coloring!  This is such a beautiful family with such well behaved children.  I always love the opportunity to do their pictures.  Thanks again!

I was able to go update some family pictures for some good friends of mine a couple weekends ago.  Despite wet grass and the early morning chill, everyone was fantastic!  And I absolutely LOVE the little boots!

These are some good friends of ours who introduced me to a beautiful new photo shoot location.  I will definitely be coming back here!  Plus, they were a blast to be with - so natural in front of a camera! And a beautiful family, too!  Here are just a few of my favorites.

That picture is more just for your viewing pleasure than anything else.  It makes me smile.

Now, on to business!  With fall fast approaching, my calendar will be booking up quickly for family photo sessions.  Especially when the leaves start to change and everyone wants pictures done for their Christmas cards.  In order to better serve you and make things more efficient, I'm making some changes effective September 15, 2011.

Change #1:  A standard session fee is $150.  This covers my time to come and take the pictures (1-2 hours of shooting), my time to edit the pictures, a low-resolution CD of your edited images from the session and $25 toward any product.  You can see all my prices for prints at http://aprilmitchellphotography.com/.

Change #2: A mini-session fee is $50.  These will be on set dates that I will be offering.  Soon I'll be posting the dates and locations of the mini-sessions so you can sign up for a 20 minute slot to have your pictures done.  I anticipate doing a few sessions in late October/early November, which is my most highly sought-after time.  This way, I'll be able to help more of my clients capture their family in the beautiful changing scenery.  I'll be offering a few different locations as well so you can book when and where you like.

A mini-session includes 20 minutes of taking pictures, editing pictures, a low-resolution CD of your edited images and $10 toward any product.

Keep these changes in mind as you plan ahead for your family's photo session this fall!  I'll be posting more details on the upcoming mini-sessions soon!

Now these are the kind of school pictures I'm talking about.  I cringe to think of parents buying their kids' school pictures they take at the beginning of the year for the yearbook and hanging it up on the wall.  No offense.  That's what my childhood photos look like.  They're fine.  They look like everybody else's.

Personally, I like a little more personality in my pictures.  In a year, you'll forget the silly faces they always made, or the way they turned their foot out, or cocked their head to the side.  Capturing them in real life, playing or in a comfortable environment lets you hold on to that.

Thanks for letting me take your beautiful, naturally-comfortable-in-front-of-a-camera, fun kids' pictures.
