I had the opportunity to fly out to shoot my aunt's wedding in Oregon. They were married in a quaint little cabin up in the mountains. It was beautiful! Here's a few of my favorite shots from the day:
I am a wife, a mother, and an artist. I am inspired by fashion, music, design, light, my kids, and most importantly life. I am thankful everyday that I get to do what I love as a profession; capturing beautiful, timeless memories for families to treasure forever.
My Philosophy
Your life as art. What's on your walls? Look around, it says alot about a person. I believe art is subjective, and should be personal. What is more personal than your children? Your family? Your life? When I became a mother, I wanted to capture those true moments of childhood. And personally, the traditional, posed, forced smile in front of a fake scene didn't cut it (no offense.) I wanted ART. So the outdoors became my backdrop, and real life my subject. Capturing real laughter, innocent moments, real life.
I have always loved photography, but it wasn't until I had some very dear friends that really encouraged me to take it to the next level, did I pursue photography professionally. And when I started creating artistic portraits of my children, I knew children were who I wanted to photograph. From their faith and innocence, to their candid personalities and reckless abandon. To draw out and capture their little personalities and to freeze those frames of innocence is priceless. And totally worth the energy it takes to run around after a toddler with a camera for 2 hours. I truly treasure the fleeting moments I have been able to capture of my own children, and love that I get to be a part of creating the same images for my clients.
Way to go! You did an amazing job. I am excited to see your future work! :)
You're really cool. I wish I could do what you and Sherrie do. Great job on the wedding. I LOVE the show picture.
Good job, April! I love that last photo of the two of them. You got some great shots. What a cute little wedding they had!
